Feridey Carr, Ph.D. Clinical Health Psychologist Pain Management and Behavioral Sleep Medicine
Feridey Carr is a licensed Clinical Health Psychologist specializing in Cognitive Behavioral approaches to coping with pain, headache and insomnia, as well as anxiety & depression associated with chronic illness. She completed a pre-doctoral residency in Health Psychology at the Phoenix VA Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ, focusing on assisting veterans with complex medical challenges and comorbid PTSD symptoms, and postdoctoral work at UCLA’s Orofacial Pain Clinic training residents and helping patients better understand biospsychosocial approaches to chronic pain management. Prior to completing her Ph.D., she also completed a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology specializing in Addiction and Recovery. In working with patients, she draws on intensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and related therapies (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Motivational Interviewing & Acceptance & Commitment Therapy). Research interests include psychosocial factors associated with pain and depression in inflammatory disease, personality traits associated with chronic pain conditions, and behavioral approaches to managing insomnia.
